Long Exposure

As a photographer, I thought I could only get the blurred water effect on my camera by changing the shutter speed. Who knew that smartphones has the same feature too and it’s really easy!

You can use this smartphone photography feature by turning on “live” photo and taking a picture of a subject that’s moving. The key is keeping the phone still for a few seconds after taking the image. The next step is viewing the photo and swiping up. There are many other options; however, when showing a moving subject such as water I love choosing long exposure.

Lens Compression

Lens Compression is when the background appears to be closer then what the human eye sees. To do this, you back up with your camera and the zoom in.

Portrait Depth Mode

This smartphone photography feature creates a blurry background and allows the subject to become the main focus. To do this, you’ll switch from normal picture mode to portrait mode and move slightly closer to the subject until the camera detects them.

Panorama

This feature is one of a kind. I really enjoy using it for landscapes! All you need to do is switch to panorama mode and press the button down as you take the picture. But remember to move your camera or phone side to side.
